i miss this

i miss blogging & want to do it again.  not the once-every-other-month-shove-the-catching-up-down-your-throat kind of blogging i've been up to.  but the real blogging that used to happen.  i really loved it and have fallen off the bandwagon.  why did i love it?  let me count the ways....

1. it helped me document all of those awesome henryisms that happen almost daily.  i'm doing a bad job of recording them here at home.  every time i write something down, i lose the piece of paper.  a blog will organize it all again for me.  and i've got a new talker in the house with more quotes to scribble down. so far the latest merianism is what dat?

2. it's way easier than keeping up with a journal.  and this mom needs to multi-task to the max these days.  so if sharing what i go through can help anyone else, we've got a sweet deal going on.

3. i've got family who misses out on seeing these babies every day.  i need to start sharing the love again, as much as i can.

4.  i really love to write.  i do.  i will never claim to be an amazing writer or to have a great grasp on the english language...but i love to write.  even if i have stinkin' bad grammar.  and if you choose read this blog, then at least i've warned you.

but here's where it gets hard...and here are a few of my issues with the whole blogosphere.  things that i think happen....things that i wish i could change.  some of them are real, some might be things i made up in my head.  but let me share them, just because i want to.

1.  blogs can make relationships weird.  or maybe i should say fake.  i'll admit it, i've done it, too.  it's a lot quicker to read about someone's life & jump onto the next blog than it is to take the time to say something nice or encouraging.  i like how one girl put it... "secret stalkers don't make friends. come out of the bushes and say hi."  ha.  so true.  i'll work on it, and you try it, too.  let's work at saying nice things to people as we read their blogs.  it makes the blogging world a better place.

2.  i am not perfect.  snort!  clearing throat...ha, it made me laugh to even write that.  of course i'm not-- if you know me, you know i'm not.  but please, please remember this as you read anything i write.  our house is like everyone else's....any random day can and probably will include some the following: yelling, some tantrums (usually not by me, but you never know), running late, dirty floors, insensitive words, etc.  our marriage has junk that we work on.  i can be the most controlling & critical person i know...both to myself & others.  BUT thankfully, i've got a God who is bigger than all of that and loves me still.   so if i happen to take pics & share the best parts of the day on a certain post...know that there are always hard parts in there as well.

3. and on that note...let's stop the crazy comparisons.  all of us girls do it.  we see something in someone else and we let that make us feel bad. take me for instance.  these days i envy every woman i see that's wearing jeans or something nicer...because all i do is sit around in sweat pants & care for sick babies.  ha.  everyone's got something going on and NO ONE has everything going on.  (or if they say they do, feel free to call them a liar.  maybe not.  but just know they're lying.)  so let's just enjoy the variety without letting it add to our insecurities.  we each have enough of those on our own to work on, right?

that's it.  i'm done with that list. sorry if you think i made some of it up.  but that's how this girl sees things. ooh, too much glee for me...who needs to talk like sue?   let's end with cuteness.  case caught a cute shot of emmett the other day-- i couldn't be more in love with this babyman.

You really are a good writer-- you're honest, genuine, and you write from the heart in a way that makes people say "Yes! I totally GET that! I'm glad I'm not the only one in the world who feels like that..." That's an important talent! Looking forward to more blog posts!! :)

  4. Great points Katie! It doesn't help when you have to blog at 90mph. Usually when I start to write my blog someone in my house needs their butt wiped! I love stalking you, and now I am saying Hi:)
