Our Christmas Letter to You

Merry Christmas!

We're going to try something different this year and let each of us take a turn at sharing with you.

We'll start with Henry....

I'm Henry. Hello. I turned 3 this year. I learned how to write "G", "H", and "I". AND I can scribble. I like singing Christmas in Joyland (our church's Christmas musical this year.)

Here's a bit from Merian Carmen, our baby girl that arrived on June 3rd....

Baba. (Hi all)
Dadadada. (I'm just starting to figure out this talking thing.)
Yayayaya. (Much love to all of you!)

Katie's next....

It has been a year of major changes... Casey finished school in May & we moved back home to WI to live here full-time again. A healthy pregnancy ended as we gave birth to a sweet baby girl in June. We've been privileged to be a part of our church's new site in Berlin that started up this fall. It's been a great year, and I'm finding myself constantly humbled as God puts me in new situations that help me grow...and yet also bring me so much joy.

Casey will finish it up...

We never deserve God's favor, but this year we feel particularly unworthy and grateful.
*In February Henry fell out of a shopping cart and had a huge fracture in his skull that could have killed him. But God preserved him.
*In May my MDiv was finished despite the Trinity Admissions Office originally being very skeptical that my hair-brained plan to finish seminary via a long snowy commute and short time frame would work. God orchestrated it all perfectly.
*In June we had a beautiful baby girl who came at the perfect time (after graduation!) and has been the sweetest most relaxed little cutie. God's creative power is amazing.
*In September we helped launch a new site of our church with a team of incredible people who love God and love each other (and an incredible mother church). What a privilege to be in God's family.
*And now in December a series of "random coincidences" helped us stumble across an amazing home for an amazing price at just the right time (though it needs a LOT of work).
God's timing and care are phenomenal.
God loves to give good gifts to his children and this year has reminded us of how much he graciously enjoys to give those good gifts. But we know that if we are called to go through suffering next year it will be for good too.

If you'd like to learn some more random facts on the fam....try your hand at this!
